Tag blanket and animal

My cousin just had her first baby. I was a little behind in getting her present to her, but in my defense I didn't know the baby would come early. I am glad everything is going ok and that she finally got to come home. Here is a little tag blanket and tag elephant I made for her. The same day I made this elephant I noticed that homemade by jill who I got the inspiration from put a tutorial and pattern on her blog so if you want to make one check out her blog.

Parmesan crusted chicken

I know I haven't posted for a long time my friend Tawnya who just started her own crafty blog reminded me of this, but I just got my house on the markets so now I have more time to craft and I have a bunch of things to post in the next couple of days. I thought I would start with a recipe. I found this recipe on pioneer women and it is so good. I made it last week and my husband loved it so much I am making it again for dinner tonight since I already have all the ingredients. You can find the recipe here It is super easy, but very impressive to those you make it for. Last week I made it when we had the missonaries from our church over and I served it with a salad and baked potatos. Tonight I am making salad and oven fries to go with it. Happy cooking and hopefully I will get more posts up this week.

Hair bow holders

I made this hair bow holder to clip my daughters bows onto. I decorated the A by decoupaging on scrapbook paper and then just glued on a ribbon to clip the bows to. Its a great way to keep all the bows in one place, but my daughter doesn't have enough hair so I clip the bows to headbands and so I needed someplace to store the headbands. So when I went ot go make one for my friend I added a hook to hang the headbands on that way all the hair accessories are in one spot.

Old Jewelry New Jewelry

While I was at my mother-in-laws for christmas she wanted me to help her take her grandma's old jewelry and make more modern jewelry for all of her daughters and daughter-n-laws for christmas. Here are a couple of the bracelets I made. The white one I made for my husbands grandma. The middle pendent is an old earing that she liked. My mother-in-law loved all the bracelets she didn't want to give them away.

Craft Swap

I heard of someone doing this and decided that I wanted to host one. I sent an email out to a bunch of friends to see who wanted to participate. The was 7 of us which seemed like a good number. Each of us made 6 of something and then meet together and swapped so we went home with 6 different things. I made these bags full of goodies.

I took plan bags and decorated them using ribbon and material. Then I took two different size composition notebooks and made them pretty with some scrapbook paper and modge podge. I also made a matching pen by inserting matching paper into a clear pen.
I stole the following pictures from my friend. These are the things that I recieved.
A pack of very cute cards.
A christmas candle, fabric braclet, earrings, a hand drawn christmas card (very beautiful, and a puppet. In up coming days I will post how you can make some of these things yourself.

What has been going on

Did I really skip from halloween to thanksgiving with no post? Life has been crazy. We have been gone every weekend either visiting friends and family or for my husbands interview. I have been doing crafts just not posting. Many are for christmas presents and have to wait until after christmas to post. I did make a whole lot of magnets so for christmas presents for random people and some for my mom to sell in her boutique. Magnets make cheap and easy presents for a big group of people. My sisters are using them for gifts for their friends at school. They can use them in their lockers. You can personilize them for each friend or just do generic ones for everyone.

I also had my first craft swap and I think it was a sucess. I will post those pictures in its own post. I made Addi a cute thanksgiving outfit and got a great deal at joanns on fancy fabric to make her a christmas dress. I hope to be able to make that this week so she can where it to out church christmas party on friday. If any of you are looking for great ideas for homemade christmas gifts should check out sew mamma sew they had great tutorials everyday in November.
