Delicious Chocolate Cake

If you are a chocoholic then you should check out this recipe from little birdies secrets I made it last night and it was delicious. It wasn't to hard either. I made it with a devils food cake mix instead of with a chocolate cake mix and I added a little bit more water to the glaze because it was kind of thick. The batter for the cake is much thicker than normal cake batter so it is a good idea to stick with a bunt pan unless you want gooey center. I liked it so much I am making it again for my daughters birthday party on Saturday.

Chocoholic Cake
1 chocolate cake mix
1 small package (3.4 oz) chocolate pudding
1 cup milk
1/2 cup sour cream
4 eggs
1 cup walnuts, chopped (optional)
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Mix all ingredients except nuts and chips on low until well blended. Beat 2 minutes on high. Add nuts and chips. Pour into greased and floured bundt pan. Bake at 350 for 55-65 minutes. Cool cake 10 minutes then turn out onto platter. Glaze with the following recipe.

Glaze:
1 bar (2 oz) semi-sweet baking chocolate
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
3 T. butter
2 T. water
1 tsp. vanilla
Melt chocolate and butter in microwave 30 seconds at a time until smooth and melted. Cool. Add powdered sugar alternately with water. Add vanilla. Pour over cake.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Of course I had to dress my baby up to celebrate. I made the tutu and the baby leg warmers. The Tutu was so easy and I will post a tutorial soon, but if you can't wait I am sure there are others out there.

Cowgirl birthday invitations

She is cute, she is sweet, she is so much fun
Our little cowgirl is turning One!
So grab your hat and your boots and join us for some country hoots!

I can't believe my baby is almost one. Some may think it is stupid to go through so much trouble for a first birthday party, but I am having fun so back off. Besides how many birthday parties can I have complete control over. It won't be long until she starts askng for a princess party or whatever else she is into. Since papa Keep bought her a rocking horse for her birthday and I got some great suede material on sell we are havng a cowgirl party and most of her friends are boys and I didn't want to make them dress up like princesses. Stay tune for her cute little cowgirl outfit, custom made treat bags and whatever other unnecasary thing I decide to do for this party.

Ugly Dolls

I bought stuff to make these ugly dolls with my BBBS little sister long before they became famous because the Obama girls had them. They are really easy to make. I originally bought a simplicity pattern on sale that had 5 different patterns in it, but we didn't use it. We each drew what we wanted our doll to look like and then cut out 2 peices of fleece in that shape. We used buttons for the eyes and embroidered the mouth. This was a great way to teach Dede, my little sister, some basic sewing skills.

Cameo pin

So I found this awesome new site called artfire. It is similar to etsy but it is free for a limit number of stuff. I haven't sold anything on there yet, but I found an awesome store that sells loose cameos and setings and I love them. I bought a whole bunch of stuff. One thing I bought was a hibicus loose cameo and it reminded me of my grandma so I put it together and made her a pin. The setting was for a necklace, but I wanted it to be a pin so I turned the setting upsidedown and used the neclase hole to connect a pearl. What do you think? I thought it was a pretty ingenius idea myself. I hope you like it grandma Happy Birthday!

Tag blanket and animal

My cousin just had her first baby. I was a little behind in getting her present to her, but in my defense I didn't know the baby would come early. I am glad everything is going ok and that she finally got to come home. Here is a little tag blanket and tag elephant I made for her. The same day I made this elephant I noticed that homemade by jill who I got the inspiration from put a tutorial and pattern on her blog so if you want to make one check out her blog.

Parmesan crusted chicken

I know I haven't posted for a long time my friend Tawnya who just started her own crafty blog reminded me of this, but I just got my house on the markets so now I have more time to craft and I have a bunch of things to post in the next couple of days. I thought I would start with a recipe. I found this recipe on pioneer women and it is so good. I made it last week and my husband loved it so much I am making it again for dinner tonight since I already have all the ingredients. You can find the recipe here It is super easy, but very impressive to those you make it for. Last week I made it when we had the missonaries from our church over and I served it with a salad and baked potatos. Tonight I am making salad and oven fries to go with it. Happy cooking and hopefully I will get more posts up this week.
